Thanks for accessing the Predator Corporate collaboration network. Human Resources should have already sent you an invitation to your department's group. If not, please call them at (415) 555-8736 and get set-up. Our current settings allow our users to post blogs and edit the wiki. Even though regular Internet users can't see this page, please try to keep it clean, and not post personal items such as funny YouTube videos. This site is meant for collaboration, not as a window into your home life. Each group comes with its own wiki, and documents menu. Use these to organize files. Also, it's highly recommended that if you're managing a big project, you should create a subgroup specifically for it. That way all your relevant information will be in one place.
Another point of note is that each department has a category called "Priority." It is recommended that you use categories to organize posts. All items filed under "Priority" will come to the attention of department heads. This can be used to alert other users to serious issues such as assembly line holdups or big news items.
Also, please refrain from posting on this page. It is setup only as a place to navigate to and from.
This group is where the Intranet of Predator High Performance Computers begins. Normally, this group would be "private" and the average Internet visitor would be unable to see or access it. However, since this is a demonstration site, it remains open. When a group (or subgroup) is created it can be marked as private, and only people who have been invited to it are able to access it. This way if you wanted to create a space where only company employees would be able to create and view content on the web, you would create a group such as this one. All subgroups of this group would be automatically private as well, and you would only have to invite people once.
Alternatively, you could choose to make portions of your company's internal blog site public, so that your customers or partners can see what's happening. This can be done by creating an open departmental group, then putting sensitive data into private subgroups while sharing the rest.
